About Us

Our History

The King’s Rochester Sports Centre (formerly The Stirling Centre) has been owned and managed by King’s Rochester School since October 2012. The Centre was acquired and refurbished to the tune of £500,000 not only to provide top sporting facilities for King’s pupils, but also- and very importantly- to provide the local community – residents, schools and businesses- with some of the best and most affordable leisure and sporting amenities in the area.

As a ‘dual use’ Centre, our facilities cater for all dry -side sports, recreational activities, private functions and conference hire.

Refurbishment Project

The injection of capital by King’s has enabled a full redecoration and renovation of all internal areas throughout the Centre including re-flooring our full-size Sports Hall and the addition of markings for indoor hockey and netball. Our Fitness Room has also benefited from an extensive new range of cardio-vascular equipment.

We have now completed of our biggest transformation at the Centre- the creation of seven brand new outdoor tennis courts and five netball courts. This exciting development has created even more excellent facilities including a Lawn Tennis Association (LTA)-approved tennis Centre of Excellence offering an enhanced tennis programme for adults and juniors.

We used the function room for our Silver Wedding Anniversary last Saturday and would like to say the whole venue and the staff were brilliant and helped make the evening such a special occasion. Martin and Jane Beale
